Will a Grammy to BTS be meaningful? No

  • Niels Abel was born in Christiania, Sweden, now called Oslo, Norway. (Norway was part of Sweden until 1900)

At that time Sweden was not considered to be that advanced, and the provinces of Norway were even less advanced. In the original book of Phantom of the Opera, Christine and the nobleman, suspected for killing the Phantom, flee to the Swedish province of Norway and never return to Paris. It was considered to be the end of earth for the Europeans of the day.

So nobody was going to pay attention to a mathematician from there.

Abel had limited financial means and could not stay in one place for too long. In paris, the capital of mathematics at that time, he sent a paper to Cauchy, a famous mathematician there, but Cauchy did not read it (it was not found until Cauchy died many years later)

Abel went around a few places. A German mathematician named Crelle had sympathy on Abel , who had to return back to the Norwegian provinces because his funds ran out.

Abel, despairing that he had no voice, got sick and died at the age of 27.

2 days after he died, a letter from Crelle arrived , saying he got a job for Abel in Germany. However, Crelle did not pay for Priority Delivery in the equivalent of Fedex at that time, since he thought it was not that important to send it fast, so that letter was just insulting and Abel's friends tore that piece of paper into shreds since now it was little more than an insult.

Someone revived a 3 year old post on BTS and Grammys.

I personally think BTS receiving a grammy now is worse than meaningless. It will actually be quite insulting.

A Grammy back then would have justified BTS getting military exemption. A grammy now is meaningless, since E.Jae, an ex-Korean, will probably win it and it only shows that BTS should have given up Korea like E.Jae and have gotten more success.

Maggie Kang, the producer of KPop Demon Hunters, a Canadian born in Korea, received a hero's welcome in Korea. No one asked even once about the inconvenient fact of she not being a Korean.

BTS is now done as far as its international power. It might have gained the respect of some Korean males, who nevertheless voted for New Jeans in 2023 and 2024, which won't amount to anything while lost the support of about 90% of its international fans.

BTS is now a washed up ex soldiers, something forgotten like the Covid lockdowns.

Bang Sihyuk will be busier dealing with his own problems.

I do not see 2026 to be a great success for BTS. And even if BTS receives a Grammy in the future, it won't do them any good, and E.Jae, an American, will laugh it off.

Longer career for an idol group is meaningless. Coldplay supposedly had the largest concert of the world in 2025. No one cared about it until the Andy Byron incident. Hardly anyone outside of coldplay's fans, other than Koreans, paid attention to the old act and did not give any attention to it until the scandal which had nothing to do with Coldplay itself.

Even if BTS might have the largest concert in 2026, which is actually unlikely since JYPE will make sure Stray Kids will have just one more show than BTS to bring it down, it won't impress the world after Taylor Swift's $2 billion concert over 2 years, which made her the Time Person of the Year of 2023, an honor BTS will never have.

So many things were lost because BTS refused to abandon Korea, which gave it nothing in return. RM might become a congressman in the future, and that will be the only thing Korea will ever give to it.

  • Vatican City is the smallest country in the world by both area and population, yet it wields significant global influence through the Catholic Church. Despite having fewer than 1,000 residents, the Pope’s decisions can affect over a billion people worldwide.

    No, it wouldn’t be meaningful.

  • Why don't they give grammys to French music or Scandinavian music (produce bangers every year) or Slavic music or Latin american music they're racist against white people too?? It's just an American award show and it should mean nothing to other countries, same for other countries awards show that don't go around awarding American singers 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254
