Why is post-pandemic kpop so starved of melodies?

I hate when they do a stuttering-like repetition in songs.

Because Kpop labels saw the utterly idiotic and ridiculous agenda driven hate train against Lesserafim for their honest raw unautotuned vocals during Coachella and became scared to death.

All of a sudden, Kpop groups were expected to sing like Morissette Amon while dancing like Michael Jackson. Completely and stupidly unrealistic.

So of course, they eliminated all the vocally challenging melodies.

Of all the top groups, only Ive still has true melodies in their singles. Songs like I Am are extremely difficult to sing and Ive does make a real effort to sing them live, but their choreo really suffers as a consequence. Ive choreo is basically just walking around and moving their arms.

What kind of OP os that? Two words? I guess it's progress from none.
