Are people from Northern regions "colder" than Southern?

  • Like in Europe people from Northern countries wear reputation in Asia that they don't laugh as much, kinda distant , straight faced rather than Southern countries.

How does this apply to Canada and the US?

In Eastern Asia Japanese and S.Korean are considered colder than SEA country folks..they are sitting in North Eastern Asia

What about South America and Middle East.. ?

Why do you think so if this depiction is true?

  • I am from a middle eastern country's northside and the same thing applies. People say that we in general are not kind-hearted and friendly due to the rainy climate and lack of the sun (although lack of sun in here is not comparable to northern Europe) while in the South where it's extremely hot people are all friendly, warm and nice. We are also way less religious or not religious at all in comparison to them. They call the north "Satan's den" lol

I honestly don't know if we are that unfriendly , but one things for sure, southern people are very nice. :merongk:

  • In SK, people from Seoul which would be the "northerners" are considered chic or arrogant. I was from more the south (Gyeongsangdo) which is hotter and maybe people from Seoul think we are rowdier and warmer.

Now dunno if it's true or not. Nowadays I wouldn't fit even the Korean stereotype. Maybe I could pass as a Russian stereotype as pretty cold and not smiling at all.
