My Favorite Korean Artist

Younha has some of the best quality music, amazing phrasing, control and vocals.

She's wonderful. It seems like she's criminally underrated though. Unfortunately, there's quite a large disparity between her talent vs general recognition. I mean, she's well respected in the industry, but more people should know her. Younha is an incredibly versatile artist too. She has music that caters to a diverse range of tastes.

She is well loved in Korea; she is considered one of the greatest Korean Singer Songwriters. Every few years or so one of her songs will chart really well like Event Horizon.

You're right about Korea, certainly. She's definitely loved there. I just meant, based on her music alone, her name deserves to be familiar with more people who've entered the Kpop sphere or gone down the Korean music rabbit hole. Her impressive talent should be even more known.

I was first introduced to her music back in 2009 when my mum and sister brought me back an album of hers after attending TVXQ's concert in Seoul. After that, I checked out her earlier stuff. Interestingly, it was the song you just posted that really grabbed me.

Yeah, for talent she is up there with IU. Though I think a lot of soloists that are not idols do get overlooked.

Glad you liked her stuff; I just checked out the episode she sang an older Younha song from like 2007. Seulgi did a good job!
