from kpop hunters. He's trending even among non fans of kpop. digital idols can be easily made to look and act like the ideal. maybe the older generations of fans wont get the appeal but newer generations are growing up with ai and wont see much of a difference between a human idol they will never meet to a digital idol that can interact with them directly
Jinu is evidence the future of kpop will be dominated by digital idols

Naur we can't let this happen
-
I don't know. I still prefer the real thing.
Jinu is cute and all, but he's not JayB or Jackson. But, hey, my kids or my kids's kids may not care.
-
I don’t think so. For all that people like to claim idol music is fake and mass produced (and of course in some respects it is), idol groups are actually extremely human-centric (because who the Idol is forms a central part of them). It will be much easier to create a faceless Jazz Pianist with AI than a pop-idol (as already seen on YouTube with all its slop), and as we move further into the AI generation people will value the human touch more and more.

jinu might be a trend but he'll stick as much as any animated characters that manage to garner a fandom(popular anime characters)
plave and other vtuber idols on the other hand has a real human piloting the character which will allow fans to immerse themselves into the character they're playing
jinu and the other idols in kpop demon hunters will be as loved as KDA unless they decide to rebirth them as vtubers

Ehhh. The songs are successful because the movie was good. People like the characters and the story. I don’t necessarily know if virtual idol groups can be popular in vacuum.
-
Maybe at some point we will have this conversation where virtual idols are more talented than the human kpop idols
-
I'm surprised there's no meme screenshot of Michael yelling, "Nooooooo!!" in the Memeojis section.
Oh, well, the video is better.

This.
This is like Elsa being super famous or any other animation that goes viral and gain a "fan base".
For now I don't think this is something that could affect kpop idols.
