    interesting but why is everyone up in arms against the company when it's literally the idol's choice to debut and drop out of school


    everyone of the members made a choice to become a trainee, everyone of them made a choice to debut (assuming they were "selected"), everyone of them made a choice to have a career in kpop as oppose to going to school


    they decided that being a kpop idol under the kpop system > schooling


    at any point in time they (or their parents) could have decided NO I'm going to continue my schooling (yes at the expense of my potential kpop career) but they made that decision no?

    The problem is that there should be laws prohibiting this. In my country, if children drop out of school, their parents will be called to court.

    Firstly let's assume your position is correct but why should there be?

    again it is a matter of choice no?

    it is up to the children (and their parents) to determine what's in the children's best interests right? and if they feel that dropping out of school to pursue a kpop idol career is in the child's best interests...just because you and I might disagree does that mean we should be able to impose our judgment into how others act?


    (for reference I am a father of two and vehemently against my own children going into kpop or becoming trainees etc etc I would move heaven and hell to prevent them from getting into it but I also recognise that not everyone is me and other people may have different views)


    Secondly if your issue is that a law should be made that mandates no matter if a kid enters the entertainment industry that they be required to attend mandatory education until a certain age (in my country Australia the age is 15 I think or end of year 10) then I can accept that argument

    I think people make a much bigger deal out of this than needs be. They aren’t dropping out of school and becoming delinquents, they are out earning and learning in the world of showbiz. This is a chance for them to make real amounts of money that can support them well into their lives.

    Agreed! They did something similar in one of their YouTube uploads where they corrected their actual names/random facts etc people got wrong/spreading wrong info!

    I understand what you want to say

    in same time one doesn't mean other one didn't happen


    for example member X could drop out of her middle school, and never return to any education

    member Y could drop out of middle school, and later enroll and study in school which is close to dorm/SM building

    member Z could drop out of middle school, and later enroll to other one but just to take online classes


    I know from many groups I stan that all scenarios and even more are possible. There were people who dropped after or during first year of high school, and later just passed some big exam


    but everything is doable, here you have tripleS members goingo back to dorm after studying in Hanlim

    Idol promotions does take a toll on school attendance that's for sure.


    but there's been plenty of Idols going to school and attending graduation ceremony for high school and even University in the past so it's not impossible to find a balance between Idol and school
