No they didn't. albums are printed months in advanced, and most likely weren't going to take financial hit in pulling it and re-printing it. I guess they could pull it from digital
Also, I think with Julie and kiof they're most likely not affected in Korea. So, SM is willing to take a hit internationally if some fans are upset about it. I think her feature won't make SM lose that many sales overseas

That's not necessarily true with Kpop. The album was still being recorded back around the time of Seulgi's solo, according to her. SM's physical album shortages in particular are also infamous, so it's hard to believe they put much preparation into it.
SM not caring about international fans is an ongoing problem, so I don't think it excuses this poor decision.
Even if you look past Julie's controversies, this simply wasn't necessary. They didn't need to collab with anyone, certainly not with a smaller 4th gen group. How are they even supposed to perform this song on tour?

I am still confused why they didn't go in-house and feature Giselle or Karina if they were looking for a rap verse. It does show you how much momentum KIOF was gaining to get a feature with Nayeon and now this.
