Does winning nugu awards help the group?

    no. even winning big awards are useless like mma or mama.

    the biggest help is getting to perform in these big award shows and going viral


    awards are just for fandoms to celebrate, also recognition of effort for the artists and staff

    We didn't have nugu awards in 2024.

    those are a candidates

    and there are more than 60 groups nominated

    no one won anything yet


    also UNIS didn't want artist of the year on MAMA

    they won Fans Choice Female Award

    which means their fans voted hard to get them this award


    as for other award shows like they sometimes win Rookie of the Year, and sometimes awards name like 'Trend' or 'Hot', or 'Rising Star' basically those are all awards dedicated to new groups

    Any exposure is precious to aspiring groups. Even if a handful of people notice the news/ads and check them out, it is a win. In current social media driven industry, you never know who and which moment will go viral.


    So I would say YES.

    I was looking at all the nominations its like every group, both GG and BG lol and you have to buy things or watch 100 ads to vote. who ever has the deepest pockets of fans will win lol

    I've been following UNIS casually. They have a strong fandom and company that backs them up. They really just need a hit song. So far, their releases have been "safe". I do respect this choice though since they have one of the youngest maknae in the industry. I still consider them nugu though so any exposure is good exposure, and for a nugu, they're not doing too bad when it comes to sales.


    One of their awards was a live voting in Japan, and only the audience could vote. They won that award which leads me to suspect they have a decent backing in Japan. Their Maknae is really popular in China and is #8 when it comes to the most followed china bars on weibo for 5th gen (sitting at #2 at some point behind Ahyeon).

    Their loyal fans are insane--I've seen quite a few of them sit on discord for hours farming for votes everyday.
