Singer Lee Chae Yeon, formerly of the group IZ*ONE, has announced that she will temporarily stop her dance activities due to back health issues, raising concerns among fans.
On December 19, Lee Chae Yeon shared an MRI image of her back on her social media with the caption, “Let’s go together, friend. I’m counting on you.”
She also posted a video of herself practicing dance and wrote, "It’s amazing it didn’t rupture. You worked hard. Let’s not warm up like this anymore. But that stretch feels really good..." expressing her mixed feelings about the situation.
Lee Chae Yeon went on to declare a temporary suspension of her dance activities, stating, "CLOSED. Roughly speaking, it means I’m taking a brief break from dancing. I’ll be back in full operation next year."
Fans who saw the post left messages of support and encouragement, saying, "Oh no, protect your back. Once it gets worse, there’s no going back," "Take good care of your health. You can’t afford to get hurt," "Rest well, be mindful of your posture, and keep up with exercises," and "The connection between main dancers and slipped discs is inseparable, huh."
Meanwhile, on December 7, Lee Chae Yeon made headlines for her stance on political issues. While communicating with fans on a fan platform, she said, "Am I not in a position to talk about politics? As a citizen and as a member of the public, I’ll do as I see fit. I’ll decide what I want to talk about, too. I’m a celebrity, and that’s why I’m using my voice."
She continued "I know very well that people worry about idols making these kinds of statements. But I’m also a citizen." She reassured fans with the message, "Thank you so much for your concern. Let’s all live in a better world. And in that world, let’s love each other as much as we want."
