I couldn't even listen to this song properly. it kept reminding me of Anggun's song 'Hymne à la vie/Seize the moment ' which she promoted heavily in Indonesia years ago (and it became one of my entire lifetime favorite songs).
I was so shocked the first time hearing this song. I was even more shocked that both songs were sampled from other artist/music.
I have been repeating Anggun's song today. It was so funny that this song reminded me of an old song that I love.

"Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence" is amazing, but this is a mediocre use of the song in my opinion. It feels very underwhelming. It's a BLOP edging towards a flop.
Off of the top of my head, Hikaru Utada's blows this one away, and it's my go-to when comparing poppy remixes of this song:
