I used to be a hardcore boy group stan who couldn't imagine stanning a girl group, but look at me now

  • I was never attracted to becoming a fan of any girl group before. Not at all, and I never imagined I could ever stan one. I never understood the hype. Maybe the younger me saw everything in black and white—thinking that, as a straight girl, I should like boy groups only. That felt like the norm around me too.

But over time, I grew up and slowly became more interested in girl groups. I started by admiring their makeup, fashion, and confidence. Without even noticing, I became a fan already. Shout out to Mamamoo and Gfriend for being the first girl groups that pulled me in the opposite direction. Not to mention, I really didn’t like BP before, but now I’m totally in love with them.

Now, I’m fully a girl group stan. The last boy group I stan isn't active anymore, and no new boy group has managed to sway me. Life sure is funny sometimes.

  • same here. ı do not know any boy group from gen 4 and 5 ( only familiar with their names tbh). even tho ı'm not particularly a fan of a lot of girl group ı check out their songs. ı think girls are taking the kpop scene.

  • Shout out to Mamamoo and Gfriend

I see you have taste. Welcome on board, dude! Subscribe to famous k-pop feminist Mr. bartkun , he always delivers fresh news and quality content about girl groups.

Also let me recommend you to draw your attention outside of big-4 sandbox, since big entertainments often are predictable and marketing oriented. Smaller entertainment desperately fight for an audience, idols try hard to increase their skills, creative managers figure out interesting concepts.

  • i can only bring myself to casually stan ggs

like aespa is the only gg that i have an album of and listen to (some songs, mainly like TTs and some bsides) but like i dont watch their content

i mainly only stan bgs but maybe would need to find like a interesting gg

I’m the same, just not that interested. I’m the same with western music too though I just like men’s voices better. The only gg album I have is Illits debut. I got it for the signatures in case they got big. I never even opened it.

  • I still like both but I started off with more BGs than GGs but overtime i have stopped checking out any new bgs (since i think around skz/ateez debut whichever was later).

I would like songs occasionally here and there from new bgs but nothing more than that. I do however follow older boy groups when they release new music.
