I miss the Kpop with melodic sound

But a few weeks ago I listened to GFRIEND for the first time ever and have been addicted to their discography. And some Apink songs as well. Just much different than most of the kpop I've listened to. I now find myself longing for a time in kpop I never even experienced lol.

    I disagree. Melodic music does have a home: Japan. If you want melodic music, listen to J-pop or K-pop music when it was more heavily influenced by J-pop as it tried to enter the market (gen 1 and gen 2), especially the songs aimed at the Japanese market. J-pop goes heavy with melodies.

    I love that you said this because this is EXACTLY what drew me to them. I'm not sure if this will make sense, but many of their songs sound like they could be the opening of an early 2000s high school slice of life anime. So as a big anime fan their music feels very nostalgic to me and reminds me of some of my favorite anime, which I've followed a lot less in the past few years.
