Ok the real tea is that it takes time to set up. For music shows it's always when 1 ends the next come up so with all the instruments set up they need to have a dedicated stage just for them.
And for shows like awards shows it is probably hard to do so since there are so many back up back performances.
It is more doable in artists own concerts like for example IVE had a live band set up for their entire long set in Lollapalooza and their own concerts, but it probably isn't worth the time money and set up if it's just going to be 1 or 2 performances.
Which is why I appreciate the effort it takes whenever music shows dedicate an entire stage for Day6 to perform with live instruments
