Yunjin making all of your main vocals look like rank amateurs tbh.

  • I might need to see more recent clips of Chaeyeon but I have a hard time believing that, sorry. ( Chayeon is talented but she is more of a well-rounded idol).

I thought you heard her new album?! 🤔

Yes, she's a more well-rounded Idol than Yuri, and she stays in her line as well. If you watch real live performances from them, you can hear, both of them are airy, but Chaeyeon has more stamina, and even tho Yuri has a bit wider range, she can't support the harder notes that much.

I chose two similar ballads from them, it's easy to hear the difference. To be honest, it's all about their skills. Yuri could be better over time, but right now, Chaeyeon is effortless with fewer flaws. Also, I think Yuri picked a wrong company too. Chaeyeon is at label under RBW, and they're focusing more on the vocal training and it shows.

Yuri's "Taeyeon - FINE" cover is the prime example of what she can and can't do. The next cover in this video is much better.

  • No, I did not listen to her album, just her title track. I used to listen to a lot of new Kpop albums but since last year, my interest in Kpop has been going down because I no longer love the music as much as before. i like her title track Don't but not to the point of listening the whole album.

A studio version means nothing anyways.

And these two videos proove my point. We clearly don't have the same ears lol even if Fine is not Yuri best cover. I have never heard Chaeyeon truly supporting to begin with.

Her voice color didnt suit the song at all, I think she should have chosen something that highlights her more. :hazquestion:

Her b-sides on the new album are much better. Usually that's the case in Kpop anyway. Summer Heat and Standing On My Own is amazing, but the whole album is great.

Neither of them are great in support, but Chaeyeon has better stamina because she's a dancer, and Yuri has wider range. To be honest, that's the analysis, basically. Like I said, there isn't a big difference between them. The question is which of them will or want to develop more?

I will give a try to her album. Her first two mini albums were nice, in particular Danny.

Yuri has a true support range at least, Chaeyeon has none and Yuri almost always supports in her comfort range. She can also sing with a connected hed voice and she is almost there with resonance, Chaeyeon is far from it, she sounds really nasal and often sings with a closed throat.

If you prefer Chaeyeon to Yuri as a singer, it's fine.

Stamina as a dancer/singer is not important for Yuri anymore, she does not dance for her stages. As for vocal stamina, I would bet over Yuri over Chaeyeon any day.
