Do people still trick-or-treat in your area?

  • I remember on October 31st of various years, my father told me not to open the door because of the children knocking on the door as part of trick-or-treating. That was years ago, and trick-or-treating hasn't been done in my area ever since 2017, 2018, 2019, or 2020 (I don't remember what year it was when they stopped trick-or-treating in my area).

I guess they don't do that because of school, lack of interest, parents won't allow them to do so, or some other reason.

Back to the question: Do people trick-or-treat in your area?

  • Trick or treating has probably resulted in millions of pedophilia cases. It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. Let's let kids go to adults houses at night.

Uhm tf? American culture started this not to mention it's a demonic tradition that no religious person should ever be a part of.

And I personally haven't gotten any trick or treaters in my life I am 27 and have lived independently since I was 18 but I'm in new Zealand so not sure if it's just less popular here. But I have seen them before it's just not common.

  • Trick-or-Treat is ongoing tradition in the neighborhood. Starts out at dusk(5pm) when the small kids start. Depending on the Day of the week for Halloween. Weekdays Trick-or-Treating goes to 9pm. On weekends there are some teenagers that go till midnight. Now I'm the Treat'er and do what my parents do. To give full size candy bars and I added they also grab a hand full of bite size candies out a bowl. Halloween night 30-50 Trick or Treaters show up.

I sit outside and restock a small table with candy. No costume, but I must look startling all wrapped up in a blanket . :iconpepe: Must be they get used to ringing the doorbell and doors opening and be greeted. Not someone in the shadows that says Boo!

My sister and I did trick-or-treating from 5 years old. We were free range kids. aka We went without adult supervision. Continued Trick-or-Treating with friends from grad-school. We went to hundreds of houses. Collecting so much candy we had to drop off a bag and take a second bag. I'm sure we had some massive sugar rushes. XD

I think as small kids Trick-or-Treating was awesome. Some Houses had crawl through mazes of monsters, ghosts and gross things like bowls full of eyeballs. Another had passages through their courtyards of scary haunts(people in costumes).

As a assistant Treater, I outfitted a remote control truck with a huge spider and ambushed trick-or-treaters coming up the driveway. Another time outfitted the RC Truck with a eyeball flashed human head and following them on the street.

  • Wow. Fascinating story. I would love to give candy to the trick-or-treaters if my parents allowed me to. I feel somewhat bad for them.
