Following a printed recipe is much easier than following a recipe on a screen, especially a phone's screen. Definitely recommend the books.
Good choice on the author. They are terrific and I use them for 99% of my recipes. FWIW, I recommend their website, you get a lot more than just recipes. Plus, it's easier to browse/search for recipes first, then print what you need. I have a cheap black & white laser printer that I use to print out the recipes, and then I save them in a page protector and put in a 3-ring binder.
Internet recipes, especially those with videos, have been great for me for discovering new dishes! I tried using cookbooks before, but I'm a visual learner and I prefer to see the process, especially if it's something I've never done before. I do write them down after that though, cause once I know what to do I can follow the writte recipe.
But when I cook every day, the things that I know, I don't use anything. I often also adapt and twist the recipes I find online to fit my tastes or what products I currently have.
