WHY HAVE THE FEES JUMPED SO MUCH?

Officials “might have done better to look at inefficiencies in the system to save money,” he says.
Paisey says he’s heard that the increase will allow the USCIS to “get rid of the backlog… But is that because you’re going to employ more staff or is it probably because you’re going to get less applications?” he wonders, because it’s going to benefit “people who can afford to go than rather than who wants to go or has the fan base to go.”

I guess this is logical on some level. But For less known artists from smaller companies this will make touring the US way more difficult.

You're welcome, it's definitely terrible, as that article said it really hurts everyone, the business, the fans, the artists etc. I can understand a fee increase sure, but not something so damn drastic. It's like they really want to keep foreign acts from coming here and that's absolutely ridiculous to me. Even if a group is huge like BTS i can't see them wanting to pay that kind of money...though they would no doubt but really it's just insane.
Let them pay it lol. Especially don’t feel for kpop artists.
It was already difficult for groups from small companies to make money with tours, but now it is basically impossible.
From now on, doing concerts in the US will be mostly for big 4 groups.
