JYP's title track focused approach is what's screwed them

  • But none of the JYPE girl groups outside Twice are selling amazingly, so how going from selling mid to selling decently is a good thing?

JYPE has a lot to worry about because after all these years they still couldn't debut another girl group that could come close to twice's peak.

Besides, neither Twice nor Stray Kids will be around forever, and since they are responsible for a lot of company revenue, they would need to find "replacements" for them at some point, but no lucky so far.

    Ummmmm.....

Itzy have million certified albums, NMIXX sold has 3.6m total album sales to date

    Edit:

btw, TWICE's peak with their 9 number 1 Songs were selling less albums than NIMXX in the same space of time

  • Pretending jype doesn't use more finessing than the other big 4, you just need to look at nmixx like/view ratio, which is highly inflated.

If twice had debuted in the same period as nmixx and still got the 9 consecutive hit songs, they would sell way more than just 3.6 million. The period is not comparable, since kpop has grown so much since 2015.

Then you need to remember that melon is way smaller now than it was back in 2015, but the girl group getting all the chart achievements is still the one selling the most albums, which is just like it was in 2015. Chart performance still matter a lot.

  • Maybe the Twice members did a bad job promoting their B-sides :whistling:
