As Icaro pointed out they've never shared their methodology, so we can only assume. Based on past rankings, people often theorize they put a bigger weight on physical sales in comparison to other formats.

That's what I suspected, but I didn't want to come off as being shady, even though I just wanted to understand the methodology better.
Whatever the calculation method, it's still great to see NewJeans make more history for girl groups
