While I think this should be an exception and not the norm (even in the case for members whose potential is being held back by say, division 2, as there're no guarantees in terms of risk/return), I think it's clear that the girls under Soyeon's leadership are really putting their money where their mouth is and really have an uncompromising vision for the kind of production they're going after.

Regardless of the eventual commercial results, I do think this experience with financial investment and budgeting will be an invaluable learning experience that might be helpful in the evolution of the quality of (G)I-DLE's "self-production".

  • They are really setting the ground work to leave Cube and set their own agency.

  • Ohh, i just made a post about it too. Maybe we can merge it?

Agree to all of things u said. They really put a lot things into their comebacks, plans etc. Since they have their own team only for themselves. I do believe there might be some plans regarding a sub-company under cube? Or independent company. I want to see how things gonna work.

  • To be fair, and unless I'm gravely mistaken, it is how these companies use to work. Every expense is shared 50/50 between the artists and the company.

Now usually companies do the expenses first then pay themselves back from the income generated by sales and other sources. I suppose what's different this time is that the members decided on doing a more expensive M/V and pay their 50/50 share right away so it can happen.
