I've long predicted consolidation.
vs
Kakao/SM
Will be interesting to see where JYP and CJENM fall and what happens to Cube, RBW, and all the nugu labels.
The US music industry, which is like 20x bigger than Korea, only has three labels that matter, the Big 3 of UMG, Sony and Warner. It dont make no sense for Korea to have a Big 4. I know the ego and pride of men like JYP and YG are as large as the Milky Way galaxy lol. But even they wont be able to prevent the inevitable. Their companies will be subsumed and become nothing more than a subsidiary, much like Pledis, Ador, Starshit, Source, etc.
I could see it ending up like this given how we've already seen some partnerships happen as follows:
Hybe/YG/Naver/JYP/CJ Produce groups
vs
Kakao/SM/Cube/RBW/all nugu labels

It's kind of like Sony and Microsoft. They have so many divisions besides video games but they still count them as big console gaming companies, not just Nintendo.
