Seeing the drama/controversy/tea around Dream Academy contestants after the finale, I feel like this could happen to K-pop idols or trainees if they don't get proper social media training

  • I don't follow this survival show, but some of my moots are invested, so it appears in my timeline. Here's some tea I picked up from them. Seriously.

    1. A contestants name Samara liked some controversial TikTok vids about anti-Indian, anti-Chinese, anti-Islam and pro-Israel. Going from favourite and definitely will get the spot to being hated by a lot of people.

    2. Celeste defends Samara, calling it a "mistake". We should allow people to make mistakes and learn from them or something like that. Basically confirm her friend like those vids. Girl you busted her 🤣

    3. Another contestant, Iliya, openly supports Israel during the show and gets eliminated the same week.

    4. Weird vibes among the girls – some contestants congratulating everyone in the line up except Manon. Fans think it's because she entered last minute with less training while being introverted so she took time to connect with others especially those who eliminated early. Plus during the show some of them think she will be eliminated early or will not make it bc she skipped training while being sick. Some contestants seems unsatisfied with her bc there were other trainees that sick but still going to training.

    5. Ex-contestant Naisha, who didn't make the top 20, throws shade towards Manon, the black girl that make it into the line up under the Indian girl ig comment section.

Fans suspect it's because Samara, didn't make it as both of them are Brazilian

    6. Lara, the Indian contestant, unfollows Samara, but still follows everyone else. Samara unfollows almost everyone, except three girls, including Sophia, who made it to the final lineup.

There might more that I don't see. Imagine if ex gp999 or produce series especially those who being rigged out being as salty as some of these girls 🤣 The tea we will get..

Changed the title of the thread from “Seeing the drama/controversy around Dream Academy contestants, I feel like this could happen to K-pop idols or trainees if they don't get proper social media training” to “Seeing the drama/controversy/tea around Dream Academy contestants after the finale, I feel like this could happen to K-pop idols or trainees if they don't get proper social media training”.
  • Excited about the Netflix series even though it might not spill all the backstage drama. Curious about Lara and Samara's friendship post the controversy. Lara unfollowing her seems like a hint. Also, thinking culture plays a role here. Korean artists are usually reserved, but these girls from diverse backgrounds seem more outspoken yet sometimes without thinking first. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds.

  • I love how Kpop fans were like "moooo they are only gonna debut white and asian girls" and ended up eliminating all of them. The group is a mess. JYP's group has a better diversity than this one. No wonder they are gonna have a Netflix show, it is literally a Netflix school of casting.

Ethnicity wise, the diversity seems so good especially they have 2 brown girl representative in this group. They have 1 Indian, 1 Swiss-Ghanian, 1 Philippines, 1 Venezuelan-Cuban, 1 Korea, 1 White-Chinese. Nationality wise, three of them are from America. But I don't think it erase their ethnicity. It's just like Vcha tbh.
