when RIIZE debuted, a lot of people were surprised by just how close Wonbin and Shotaro are (they're literally glued to eachother lol) and Shotaro can perfectly understand Wonbin's sometimes thick satoori accent.
turns out, their friendship goes way back to when Shotaro first came to Korea and SM entertainment. he said the first friend he met was Wonbin (who trained for 4 years prior to debuting) and Wonbin ended up becoming his first friend in South Korea. he also said that Wonbin is one of his best friends T.T.
Shotaro ended up debuting in NCT meanwhile Wonbin was moved from different teams in the company (it was so hard on Wonbin that he thought about quitting)

the fact they ended up debuting together against all odds is so sweet

But than again, the people I know who are friends of him are people he met during the time when he visited a dance class in Japan and all his friends are also musicians or dancers
