    Originals he was to recreate look like a sheet of of Danish paper currency with a few missing near the lower part of the painting. Guess it symbolizes taking some cash from a stack of cash. "Take the money and run'.

    The paintings are very detailed and recreating them would be difficult. The Museum was getting duplicates cheap. The commission would be enough for Lithographs but not manual repainting them.

    Articles labeling the actions 'Art or Theft' is an Artsy take. Sounds like the Artist had second thoughts and found away to get out of the commission. The court ruling was fair and just.

    Bet his paintings just went up in value.
