I think Tae and MHJ's strategy is to increase the streams of the album as much as possible and secure its longevity. If all the songs were released at the same time like other Kpop albums, it's likely that fans would focus on the title track and other songs wouldn't be as successful as they are now. For example, it is very likely that Love Me Again would not be able to debut in HOT 100. But with this promo schedule, Layover has already surpassed 70 million streams with two songs, and a b-side also debuted in HOT 100. Not bad for a R&B album right?

I think that would make a lot of sense. For example, we all know that the fandom lost its streaming power in the second week. But with this strategy, Slow Dancing will be released first and Blue will be released in the second week, it seems to be aimed to preserve a bit more of the streaming power.

You got a point there, i mean it worked for newjeans’ album and people are willing to listen to music the first time if there’s accompanying MV. Accumulating number also helps for charting when the physical comes out (and it will be good, people are stoked for his packaging)
