OP is not wrong. Aespa is hated on for being Aespa and an SM group. People said they weren't going to succeed with that lame concept or even tour. They still downplay their success and claim they can't pull better numbers. I'm surprised that you don't know that.
You are right. Aespa got lots of hate here and elsewhere. They don’t deserve it.
However, if you follow lots of threads here, you realise that many groups get hated, and the intensity fluctuates especially during comeback or when they are achieving something great. Downplaying is the bread and butter of kpoppies too. That’s the kpop way, how ever wrong it may be. The trick is to focus on the positives not the negatives.
