Why are we ignoring NJ's unusual waacking and contemporary dance choreos for this cb

  • Before folks bring their pitchforks out, no I'm not saying NJ paved the way or invented something no one ever did before. But it's also not common at all that kpop girl groups perform a dance style wildly out of the usual kpop realm, and yet NJ just incorporated 2 styles rarely seen performed by a girl group into the choreos for their promoted material this cb. Why is no one talking about this and giving it the attention it deserves??

The choreo for Super Shy is dominated by waacking elements and super satisfying to watch with the full group formation:

  • Let's not get too crazy here, lol, it's very nice to watch, WAY BETTER than the songs, but even retired idols like Minju are putting out not one but two videos of her doing this kinda dance.

  • Watching all these be in trend in 2024 after NJ.

well if they do become a trend, one thing we’ll know for sure is that nj had nothing to do with it, bc they just copied from someone else and it was nothing new, and other groups are only jumping on that trend bc group X and group Y did it first 5 years ago duh :pepe-use-head:

reading comprehension is key old man. Last i checked minju wasn’t a girl group, and she wasn’t practicing choreo for official promoted material that’d be visible on a wide scale :pepe-use-head:

  • They're great dancers but AKP is unusual in that it doesn't really appreciate dance despite being a kpop forum

nj isn’t the most athletic gg out there and their choreo isn’t the most eye-catchingly acrobatic, which kinda hinds how their deceptively difficult their choreos are imo. Omg’s choreo really isn’t as easy as people think it is, especially the footwork, and that super shy choreo can go wrong so fast with how quick-paced and strenuous its moves are when fully executed. Those cutting flailing limbs chops are no joke lol. It goes with the waacking territory.

That being said, akp cares a lot more about dissecting idols’ visuals and dissing their vocals than they do dance, so it’s not entirely out of left field that no one discusses dance in this trash heap lol

it's a demographic thing probably, more forum poster types and maybe less people who would be involved in actually dancing

OMG's choreo is sneakily quite challenging, even in the chorus

oh yeah I forgot to mention that tutting isn’t waacking - both of those styles fall under the vogue umbrella but are 2 separate styles of dance. Gotta educate yourself if you wanna keep up with the times old man :pepe-use-head:
