YG Announcement: TREASURE 2nd Full album + New Unit T5 ahead of comeback

After having wrapped up their successful tour selling out multiple Domes with 500k attendance and grossing over $30 million at the box office, TREASURE announces their long awaited comeback.

I'm assuming this is T5. From the BL-themed web drama they did. But no confirmation. They'll be revealed starting from tomorrow.

So there's been 2 units.

Neither one promoted, so I'm wondering if T5 is promoting.

I think they'll probably reveal each member of T5 one by one at midnight like when they dropped the video.

That's probably a safe bet.

I think it's also safe to assume the members that write music have a good shot at being in T5.

(Xports News Reporter Jo Hye-jin) Yang Hyun-seok, YG's general producer, directly revealed Treasure's activity plan.

YG Entertainment posted 'The Next Plan for TREASURE' on its official blog on the 12th.

The video shows Yang Hyun-suk revealing Treasure's new activity method and comeback schedule to Treasure Makers (fandom name) around the world. For the first time in YG, and unusually, Yang Hyun-suk directly informed fans of the new album through a video.

First, Yang Hyun-suk expressed his apologies to the fans, saying, "I'm sorry for the situation in which I couldn't concentrate on my work after debuting Treasure."

At the same time, along with the activities of a new unit consisting of a five-member group called 'T5' in July, it was announced that Treasure's second full-length album filled with new songs would be released in August.

Lastly, Yang Hyun-suk conveyed to the fans his strong will to help Treasure release a lot of good music.

The name of Treasure's 2nd regular album to be released in August is 'REBOOT'. In the dictionary, it means 'restart', and it implies that Treasure will start again from a new starting point.

In addition, the new unit 'T5' to be announced in July conveys a delightful episode that it is composed of 'five self-proclaimed pretty boys', and announces that it will conduct a very unusual and special pre-promotion by releasing a choreography video before a music video. First member reveal of subunit T5

So Junghwan.

So this might actually be T5 from the web drama with the reveal of Junghwan.

Jaehyuk, Asahi, Haruto, Jeongwoo and Junghwan.

If they really are going to who TREASURE themselves deem as the visuals it's probably them. Junkyu is also someone deemed as a visual.

I could also see them just doing the maknae line with the younger half. Which would be the T5 from the web drama but replacing Jaehyuk with Doyoung.

So they might be going full team visual if that's what they're going for.

So I guess Asahi, Haruto and Jaehyuk?

Maybe they have people who haven't been in a unit yet?

That would be Junghwan, Junkyu, Doyoung, Jihoon and Jeongwoo or Jaehyuk.

Yeah the announcement video itself has 4 million views which is not normal and that's just Yang Hyunsuk talking.

So the teaser and choreography video that he said will be released before promos will probably pop off.

They've gained a lot of fans since their last comeback, which is hard to believe was almost 9 months ago. I think people just discovering them, plus their tour, plus their live performances at the awards shows has gained a huge amount of fans just based on reactions alone.

I have 2 schools of thought on T5.

If they're going full flower boy visual then it'll be Junghwan, Junkyu, Asahi, Haruto and Jaehyuk or possibly Jeongwoo.

But they may also just do members that haven't been in a unit.

Yoshi, Hyunsuk and Haruto are a unit.

Asahi and Haruto are a unit.

But neither promoted, and I think there's a good chance T5 will promote.

So that would leave Junghwan, Junkyu, Doyoung, Jihoon, Jaehyuk and Jeongwoo.

And I think that gives them segments in the concerts:

There's already a rapline segment.

Asahi and Haruto segment.

And Asahi solo segment.

There's an often talked about unit that was never an official unit but is among fans. And they've called themselves this.

Representing their birth years.

2001: Asahi, Jaehyuk

2004: Haruto, Jeongwoo

But that's already out of the question given there's only 3 slots left.

Jihoon is the 3rd member. So it does look like it'll be members who haven't been in a unit yet.

So that leaves Jaehyuk, Doyoung or Jeongwoo as the final 2 members.

So the 4th member is Jaehyuk and as I had thought, T5 will consist of a unit of members who haven't been in a unit.

So it'll be either Doyoung or Jeongwoo. And I'm here to tell you it'll 100% be Doyoung because Jeongwoo is getting a solo.

You need only look at their set list at concerts.

Currently it's:

-Asahi solo

Now you can add:

-T5

-Jeongwoo solo

And now all 10 members get a chance to shine.
