Did JYPE first popularize the concepts of foreign idols in kpop groups?

NMIXX is not all koreans. Lily is half Korean and is also from Australia like Bangchan. ITZY is the only JYPE group with no foreign members or dual citizens.

I believe Somi was the one to be the foreign member for ITZY.

I think SM started the trend but JYPE changed the game with having more than 2 or more foreign members. Now most of 4th gen groups have foreign members. It feels like it's a must now.

Foreign member especially from SEA ans China (maybe Japan to certain extent) are sales powerhouse. A must to include if you want sales
