Are her parents known to be rich or influential enough to do something like that?

No, but she probably made some money from promoting with NMIXX.
Also, a lot of artists who leave groups and go solo end up starting their own agencies. The guy who got kicked from Stray Kids also did the same thing. Jackson, JB, and Wonho also. Of course those last 3 acts I named promoted in the industry a lot longer than Jinni, but I remember that Kim Sohye from IOI also did it too and she also only promoted for 1 year.
It's pretty much the same thing that Western artists do. Unlike KPOP artists who have their agencies do everything, a lot of Western artists sign a deal with a record label then build their own team such as an agent, manager, lawyer, PR person, etc (or typically they have this team in place before signing which is why they got signed in the 1st place). It's essentially the same thing, and because Jinni also formed an agreement with Sublime, they don't have to have any influence. That's what Sublime's management is for. It's their job to manage Jinni and make sure she gets job, and Sublime has enough influence in the industry to make sure she can promote.
Honestly, that is the only way it would make sense for such a pretty and talented person like Jini (formerly known as Jinni) to sign with some random no-name agency after leaving a huge company like JYPE. The fact that she got Sublime to manage her means that she probably could have signed with them directly if she wanted to, but for some strange reason, decided not to. Only logical explanation is that whoever is running her agency is someone she is close enough with that she trusts that they will handle her affairs in her best interest. Plus, not signing to a new agency under some big company also gives her a lot of freedom. Signing directly under a big agency comes with a lot of rules, which may have ended up being the reason she left JYPE in the 1st place. Either that or she wanted to focus on acting.

Probably to further disassociate herself with her time in NMIXX and JYPE.
Perhaps. But then if the goal is to disassociate from NMIXX/JYPE, why not choose something completely different for a stage name? After all, to Koreans, both "Jinni" and "Jini" are still 지니.

I was referring more to her international audience.
By searching Jinni, a lot of negative things pop up, but at the same time, if she completely changes her Korean name, no one in Korea will know who she is. Also, she's been going by 지니 since she was a trainee and probably feels attached to the name.
Edit: Could be a trademark thing too.
