Kpop isn't all that interesting nowadays

Knowing who will win based on popularity wasn't the case before?

one thought though I noticed that there's somewhat a lack of original music from the idols themselves. Not saying that the usual stuff isn't original, but it really becomes interesting when an idol had written a song from the ground up.

I think besides the music everything always has been kinda boring. I believe that is why most kpop fans are "success stans". On what else they are going to spend all their time arguing?

Ngl before everything was formalized, it *was* that the celebrities got famous by (mostly) writing their own songs and so it seems to me kpop manufactured quite the departure to that.

I observed something, it feels like people who talk about the music or performances of groups are usually different from people who talk about the celebrity/achievements/career side of groups. I guess the success people are like people who evolved from having nothing to talk about in terms of music though.

It's just big 3 playing big 3 game to make sure all of them get their fair share in awards ceremony...

You're right compared to second gen 10 - 12 years ago. The groups today just lack quality in my opinion and certainly not as passionate as I used to be. Twice can still manage to pull off a hit though.
