YG has constantly fumbled their potential. People criticize BTS's dynamite but forget how much promo they made for that song. They were non-stop everywhere. BP had little, almost 0 interviews and then a big tour. They got them this Time's ETOY betting that the album would have had a bigger impact. Album rollout and prices did not help. Both YG and Interscope were probably very surprised with the struggle to get a BB 200 #1. Why? 8 track album with a leaked song, expensive versions and same old same old concept. Also their lack of fanservice does end up making their fans more casual listeners than other fandoms, where people might buy concert tickets but are not going to stream mindlessly or shell out for a 50 dollar album.
