I want to go to Canada. I should start saving and planning!
Where would everyone else like to travel?

Kobe is actually a very lovely city. Lots of interesting historical trade place. I think my next personal travel abroad will be to Japan too. I've not seen my friends since the pandemic started - so it's been about 4-5 years. This trip will take some planning because friends are in remote Tohoku but I want to go to the new Studio Ghibli Park in Aichi (near Nagoya).
kobe huh? any particular reason you chose that place?
My Japanese tutor loves it (He's from Tenri originally), but the language school I'm going to has high pass rates on the Japanese proficiency tests and the admissions test for international students. Also, this school heavily caters to Chinese students so I won't have hardly any chance to speak English so its going to put me in a position to be highly motivated to study.

Ooo that sounds challenging! In a good way though! I hope it really works out!

I think it will. I already have some level of Japanese and I think I'm pretty decent at acquiring languages so hopefully I'll go well

I only speak one, but I can understand basic French (I just cannot respond in French). I can understand about 400-500 words in Russian , and I was learning German and Czech for a bit but I stopped. My tutors always drilled us on the pronunciation, so I'm able to hear and reproduce a lot of sounds in a lot of different languages even Mandarin tones but I'm really bad a the falling tone though

Wow! You still know a lot! I'm curious, when learning multiple languages at once, do you ever get mixed up? idk how to explain it, but I'm imagining you are keeping track of a lot of stuff
I don't learn multiple languages at once but I know people that do and its easy to do it if they aren't very similar. I do get some things mixed up in my head pronunciation wise every now and then like instead of using the word for reception in Japanese I used a weird hybrid Japanese-French pronunciation that confused the hell out of my tutor.
A German person learning Polish and Italian will have no problems balancing those out.
An American learning Finnish & Estonian at the same time would struggle A LOT.
