Yeah old SRK movies were pure fluff
They made me feel happy and content, I can watch them 100 times

there's two reasons actually. First it was s*xy but songs like this have existed in the Indian industry for so long. Infact we have a name for it, item songs.
Even this year, s*xy songs like Oo antava mama from the tollywood film Pushpa was released but no one was boycotting it, why? Cus it's a South Indian film.
The other reason is because Deepika wore an orange dress towards to the end. For some reason people think it's "disrespecting Hindu culture" because somehow orange dresses are now called "saffron color" dresses so by wearing the dress she's "disrespecting hindu culture".
There's plenty of item songs were people are wearing red, orange dresses etc, but apparently red and those dresses isn't the color of saffron, but the orange dress deepika wore is
So cus of that people have been literally burning pictures of Deepika and SRK and one guy publicly threatened to kill SRK if he ever saw him on a news channel.
It scares me how uneducated some people are.

I feel like the few bollywood movies that have been out recently are keep flaming the conflict and Hindu extremism.
I'm also worried about this movie bc Pathaan references very specific Muslim group. I hope it's not another Muslims are terrorists bit.

it's part of the yrf spy series. So he's going to be a RAW agent(basically an Indian spy working for India)
He might be playing a protagonist that's technically morally wrong in real life(killed a bunch of people for his own gain etc), similar to Rocky in kgf.
But these protagonists are usually praised by Indians cus they're "cool". So there shouldn't be a problem with anti-muslim things if the character gets popular and loved. But some extremists might take it another way.
