(Who is &TEAM and a deeper dive into the boy group because allkpop still hasn't posted my article that I worked hard on so I didn't know what else to do with it cause I personally enjoyed writing this. Who is Hybe Label Japan's first Japanese Boy Group &TEAM who debuted today on December 7th 2022?. This post digs a little bit into the survival group's history and their current debut promotions. Including a little bit into the group's storyline and Webtoon series that connects to another groups due to similar parallels and possibly a connection!).
&TEAM is a 9 member boy group who was formed by the show &Audition - The Howling - where the already confirmed members: K (Koga Yudai) , Nicholas (Wang Yi-hsiang), EJ (Byun Eui Joo), Ta-ki (Riki) who all originally appeared on the tv show 'I-LAND' and were former constants. The show was a joint venture between CJ ENM and BigHit Entertainment. Originally premiering on June 26th 2020 on Mnet with 12 episodes in total. &Audition - The Howling - would determine the rest of the group's members. The rest of the members that would join the group include: Yuma, Jo, Harua and Maki.
Although the group debuted on December 7th 2022. The group has already pre released their official fandom name back on September 26th 2022.
Their fandom name would be:
"'LUNÉ.' which means: "lune in American English1. anything shaped like a crescent or a half moon. 2. a crescent-shaped figure bounded by two arcs of circles, either on a plane or a spherical surface.".
&Audition - The Howling - was a 60 minute audition program underneath HYBE Labels Japan. The show was a documentary that unfolds with various performances and growth stories aiming for debut. The show originally streamed on YouTube and on the streaming platform Hulu with 8 episodes in total.
Throughout the show the members had to fill up a moon structure with balls they would receive each round, each round was a different set of colours. The group had to fill up the moon in order to debut. Throughout the show, they got to read letters from their parents, meet TXT and get advice from them, TXT Taehyun would fulfill a trainees dream of receiving a nickname, including later receiving a encouragement message from BTS themselves and meet RM in the final round of the show!. Who is &TEAM?
&TEAM is the group's official name. The group itself contains Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese and even a member who is Japanese - German. (EJ (Byun Eui Joo (변의주), Nicholas (Wang Yixiang), Maki (Hirota Riki (宏田 力)). &TEAM would debut on December 7th 2022, already hitting 411K Subscribers on the group's official YouTube Page. Where the group is currently promoting their first album, 'First Howling: ME' that features the following 4 tracks: Under the Skin (Title Track), Scent of You, BUZZ Love and The Final CountDown (&TEAM VER).
HYBE has also launched a Webtoon for the group with the title: "Dark Moon: The Grey City" which some fans have noticed parallels in their recent videos to ENHYPEN's concept and webtoon with a similar title. "Dark Moon: Blood Altar Guide". &TEAM has since posted a video explaining a little about their concept, and the characters within the Webtoon. This video would include English Sub Titles.
