Red Velvet the only group to tell fans not to bulk buy. Why won’t others do the same?

  • Because they know their fans OBVIOUSLY bulk buy. It is well known that their sales are mostly from c bars aka bulk buying bars. Other acts don’t have the more than 50% sales attributing from C Bars

  • I mean, I get the picture you're trying to paint OP. But they wouldn't really be able to say, "please, buy 30 copies of our album please, our company has made it easy for you by selling it for 2 usd".

  • Fans shouldn’t need an idol to say this since it is an individual CHOICE. Fans who bulk buy do so because they want to. Any fan who needs an idol to tell them how to spend their money is an idiot.

  • Why would a human being with free will listen to what an idol asks of them? It is their own hard earned money so It is up to them.

It is so weird that you think that you are required to do what idols ask of you.

  • Hao from Seventeen has told fans to not pay for photocards but to just print them out. He asked fans to not publicize that too much because his company would tell him off. And they are all in companies that want to maximize profits. KPop is an excellent business model that way. "Please buy 100 albums to show these poor millionaire popstars that you care!"

Anyway, Wendy may tell fans to not bulk buy but are SM still going to do fansigns for Red Velvet where fans enter by buying albums? It's just (like Hao above) good optics. The idol gets to look like the hero, but fans will still bulk buy because they are in competition with other fandoms, which the companies encourage.
