I really don't get why some people are making such a big deal of being on/leaving the forum

I don't know why people can't just leave silently without all the fuss and fanfare and to be fair within weeks they're back again. A bit hypocritical but anyway.

I come here during work breaks and in the night to take my mind off work and relax. So I'm not a very active person, and if I don't show up at all, most likely no one will miss me or even notice that ı'm gone. But some users have become really close friends with each other here. They spend more time here, they have more bonds. There are people who will feel their absence. So, I don't see any harm in leaving an explanation for those who might wonder about them when they decide to leave.
