Well to be fair, not just coffee but a lot of processed products like flour, peanut butter, and so on have "extras" like insects to dead mice. Cockroaches are of course the number 1, other invertebrates would be snails, aphids, eggs and larvas of beetles and flies, and so on. Fecal matter is also part of that as cockroaches and mice will take a dump while eating too.

Some fresh veggies and fruits can have lotsa micro worms so small to detect and remove. Frozen ones aren't safe from that too.

There is no amount of cleaning/inspecting that remove them 100% and usually from harvest to consumer, insects will get there. All we can do is have some tolerance regulation.

Unless you eat 100% sealed lab grown veggie and you picked it directly (as lot of insects can get there during storage to grocery market), insects are part of our menu.

Ok, but they literally make a type of coffee out of cat poop on purpose. Now how do you feel about cockroaches?
