Would a male version of NewJeans/Ive work?

  • Imagine a boy group with NewJeans/Ive vibes. Can it happen? Will it reset Kpop?

  • Newjeans no. No one would care about underage boys singing rnb. Ive is pretty much exo-m but all korean so yeah a male version would be a success

  • I can see it working for New Jeans tbh, especially in Asia. No crazy dyed hair, no noise music, chill RnB amd early 2000 vibes, youthful and all visuals would probably cause a resurgeance for 4th gen boy groups.

Ive is a little bit different. I can't see it working as well because defining IVE's concepts is a little difficult to do, which makes applying it to a boy version not easy to imagine. The only thing I can think of distinct enough about IVE is that their music isn't noisy. But there are boy groups out there that don't focus on noise music already and they aren't particularly successful.

No, to recreate IVE it doesn't seem possible because IVE success doesn't seem to stem from just their music or concept, but from having members like Wonyoung and Yujin. If somehow they can find a Wonyoung and Yujin then perhaps. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Ive male version = exo growl, call me baby, love me right, overdose

There's no doubt it would work, its been a long while since bg listenable music at pop peak was the norm

  • Actually Love Shot would fit perfectly in IVE's discography, and Lotto as one of their bsides
