I think as consumers of K-pop, it's really important for non-Asian people(myself included) to reflect on how we treat idols and Asian people in general. And what the intentions behind our actions and words truly are. I think this video is really insightful and a good reality check for some people who take K-pop a little to far and unknowingly push prejudice.

  • I haven't watched the video but something I'd like to comment on is how a lot of international kpop fans have picked up on Korean racism towards other Asians and it's pretty disappointing to see people fawn over Koreans but then put down other Asian cultures when every culture is beautiful and should be respected.

I agree, I've seen K-pop fans say some really disgusting things about South and South-East Asians, South-East Asians specifically.

Edit: I edited my comment because I looked it over and disagreed with some things I said.

  • Especially SEAsians... they get racism from both k and ifans

What are you talking about? They are right we are just a bunch of villagers who spend all out farming crops money to stream 25/8 for our faves at lan shops

And no this isn't a random joke literally saw someone said this in the anons about how SEA fans are just streaming faves in "SEA cafes" and when people call them out we have others coming in to say it isn't racist.

  • there are racists in every hobby/activity - kpop is no different...

is it because as kpop is getting bigger there are louder voices that share those racist opinions?

good fans don't shout...non-racist people don't go online and say hey I'm not racist!!!

the silent majority is often drowned out by the vocal majority
