Why can’t NewJeans/Ive overtake Blackpink internationally?

  • Blackpink makes NJ, Ive look like flops when it comes to international stats. Why can’t Ive/NewJeans beat BP internationally like in Korea?

  • speaking english and getting their first modelling jobs is why they are big. ironically this music group has the most trash music lol

  • those two just debuted, but even if they debuted at the same time, bp would be more famous, because their individuality is stronger

  • Idk about Newjeans, but Ive charting #23 on spotify global and overtaking HYLT as longest charting kpop song on apple music doesnt sound like flop to me.

We can only wonder how both groups will do 6 year later and again if IVE follow the same hit after hit trajectory Sistar did in SK but now internationally too they are going to be one of the most successful groups in kpop history. What they did in only 9 months is already much bigger than other groups achievements in years.

  • Why are blinks obsessing with rookies? You love edge over newbies, is that even something you should be proud of?

  • Give them time. Blackpink need 6 years to get to this level internationally. IVE is less than a year old and newjeans is a month plus. Blackpink also had a built in fandom because they debuted as little sisters of bigbang and given predebut projects with bigbang. Just give ive and newjeans time.

  • They may.. it is too early to say anything of them.

But BTS and BP might be the high tide of Kpop in the West. Kpop agencies have been trying to break into West even since early 2000s.. there was incremental success, but the big jump happened with BTS and BP.

However these things typically tend to peak and drop off.. so BTS/BP got lucky that they coincided with the peak - (Hardwork/Talent etc., every one has that .. and PD Bang has been involved in pushing Kpop to the West, even when he was in JYPE, Teddy comes from the West, produced for Bigbang who also tried in the West - so the final component was 'luck')

So if the Kpop mania fades quickly, or loses its distinctiveness to cater to the West, the 4th gen won't make it.

But that is just the West, there are other markets to conquer. South America seems increasing its market share. China is always the big fish. And India.. maybe Tri.be has set the path ahead collaborating with Indian Movie stars.

We will have to wait and watch.

  • BP feel more like stars to me. While ive/nj are just another "idol" group if that makes sense

  • IVE already surpassed BP globally in terms of longevity and BP can't outchart them in SK

Tell that to all the Spotify records BP is breaking and BREAKING AGAIN with music...

oh yes, your fave not even close to that, no matter how many cat walks your fave crawl

  • Blinjs are jobless and living vicariously through BP.

    what a shitty life! :pepe-sad:

In what world are you living in? Except for a group named BTS, NONE other group, boys or girls are surpassing them globally. But if that makes you sleep well, go ahead.

Sorry, I am a blink. I know I have better life than you ,100% guaranteed. I am paid well in my daily jobs too, way more than you ,100% gguaranteed. No cap.

  • they are rookies, why would you expect less than 1 year rookies to chart like idols which debuted over 6 years ago

  • Why are blinks worried about some teenage rookies? Insecure much
