this is unpopular because people for one don't think Yeonjun is popular, and also he's pretty much dismissed every time popular 4th gen idols are brought up. everyone seems to turn a blind eye to the hate he gets, and heck, some even think he deserves it.
Yeonjun lately has been on the receiving end of sooo much hate lately...like to the point it's actually concerning.
he's been called a bad dancer, been called ugly, that he has no performance skills and is "stiff" etc, like thats just a few things i mentioned, cuz trust me there's more.
but the crazy thing is, he been getting hate since 2020 when the whole "4th gen IT boy" title thing came about. it just progressively gotten worse, and now almost everyday, he's being dragged (on Twitter to be exact, because that's what i usually be on, and a little bit of Reddit). he got dragged for popping his chest to Nayeon "POP" song..i know its dumb, but people was saying he is embarrassing himself and that he's doing too much to be funny. he got dragged for the way he was dancing on the Game Caterers (for the HYBE groups), and people felt he didnt have to dance "that hard" tryna be better than the others there, and he trying to stand out too much, to the point he's a "pick me". THEN he's been doing TikToks with some girl group members, now haters calling him "gay" and saying that he wants to be a girl. they keep comparing him to hyunjin saying hyunjin is more popular, and that HE'S the 4th gen IT boy, and also saying lee know is a better dancer than yeonjun..Stays even called yeonjun a "tiktoker & instagram influencer", basically making it seem like he not meant to be a idol or that he's in general not "all that". and AGAIN, these are just a couple of recent things.
i say all this because its clear as day other kpop stans are threatened. like let's be real for a minute, if Yeonjun wasn't making any noise (referring to his popularity growing), they wouldn't care AT ALL about him or about what he's doing. lately he's been going viral, really since 2021 frfr. his tiktoks has got over 20 million views, 50 million views, heck one even 76-79 million views, and his modeling and fashion been steadily taking off, far as in other kpop stans praising his photos and style, including locals, also i noticed he's been gaining alot of antis since he opened his instagram account on January 5th of this year 2022. currently he has 10.7 Million Instagram Followers which is HUGE for a 4th gen idol, especially since he's only been a idol for 3 years and opened the account literally 9 months ago. what it is is, they had it easy denying his popularity before because there was no quote on quote evidence, but now that you can actually see his following on social media, see the views he get, see his magazine shoots trending, and literally since he's been on inkigayo, he's been trending even for the littlest things.
its clear they hating for a reason, and hes gonna continue to grow no matter what. by next year he gonna have about 15-20 million followers on instagram hahaha.
