I don't think they misunderstand, they're just stubborn. I'm sure they're not stupid to not get what works well in Western, they just want keep doing what they've been doing. Many kpop fans are just unaware about how sm likes to do it.

There are so many Billboard charts. What makes this 'Hot 100' different (or better?) from the other BB charts, is this a US only or US focused chart?

From what I saw 99% of the people that charted on it isn't so much 'Big 4 companies', but just BTS, Blackpink and members of these 2 groups.
