I know its been only hours since the performance, so i will give it some time to reconsider, but for now there is barely any noise around it outside of their fandom? Yes yes, there are some articles but it seemed like TS was the actual main event this year at the VMAs (dress, album announcement, carefree behavior during the vma, after party,..)
I know that despite the noise kpop is still a niche & most people in the US dont care, but this was their first big, western award show performance. Maybe it was bc they were the first kpop group in the west, but even bts' first AMA performance was bigger in 2018. Also, before you come at me, except for bts' first performance at the AMAs & their last Grammy performance, theirs dont make that much noise outside their fandom either.
Do you think the hype (from non fans/blinks) around this event will still come?
