    Single Album means they are gonna release a physical release for the single, it has nothing to do with the number of songs


    Single Album (1-3 songs)

    Mini Album (4-7 songs)

    Full Album (+8 songs)

    Literally, IVE isn't the only group guilty of the single album thing. To get mad at Starship in particular is ridiculous.

    You do realize according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary that an album means:

    one or more recordings (as on tape or disc) produced as a single unit


    therefore calling it a single album is not false advertising. I suggest you calm down.

    Lol, i remember some user praising Starship for the good timming of the release because they would gain alot of attention or something like that. Yeah, like that company would have other motive than pure greed.

    Does anyone have the definition of the Korean music association on what is an Album?

  • AllKill VIP

    A “Full Album” is what KPOP call a “Studio Album” (general term). It is a collection of songs that usually ranges from 10 to 12 tracks. A “Full Album” can also mean a “Full Length Album”.


    A “Mini Album” is called mini since it is half of a “Full Album”. It normally contains 6 songs. A “Mini Album” is most commonly known in other parts of the world as an “EP” or “Extended Play”.


    A “Single Album” is an album which only has 1 or 2 songs in it so in short it’s half of what a “Mini Album” is.

    It's really not difficult to google search when you don't know.


    The main difference of single albums from the other types of albums is that it only consists of two to four songs. If there is only one song, it’s not a single album but a digital single because they won’t have a physical album to be sold in the market.

    Well, the idea is that their 3 singles are like a trilogy and they kind of connect to each other from what I've been hearing, right? So maybe after they wrapped this up, they can take a slightly longer break between comebacks and hopefully start their next chapter with a mini.


    At least that's what I am hoping for. But idk we'll see what Starship does.
