Jhope’s tragic charting performance just shows how overrated BTS’ popularity is

    Armys are always pretending like BTS are miles ahead of every Kpop act just for jhope to flop this badly… it’s completely embarrassing. Only a #90 debut on the hot 100 and couldn’t even enter too 20 on the billboard 200 chart. No we don’t care that there was no physical release, only 20k streaming units and digital sales is embarrassing as fuck. Not to mention the horrific YouTube views and literally no hype whatsoever.

    1) Hot 100 rules have changed this year. He is the only Kpop soloist to chart a song this year under new rules without a collab. The other Kpop soloists who charted songs on Hot 100 under new rules were Jungkook with Stay Alive and Left and Right and Suga with That That (all collabs). So comparing J Hope's solo charting to anyone prior to the new rule changes is fallacious.


    2) J Hope charted at 17 on BB 200 so he did get a top 20 all with digital sales only as there were no physicals. Again under changed rules for digital album purchases.


    When any other non- BTS Kpop soloist achieves similar results under the new rules on Hot 100 and BB 200 (with no physicals), then your OP will make sense. Till then its just lots of lies, jealousy and lack of awareness.

    Not an army, but Jhope not pulling ginormous numbers is imo because of how niche the music he releases is. When I checked out Arson I really remembered why I don’t like his rapping and since he’s very stylistic I’m sure some will agree with me. He’s a nice guy but him pulling much better number than the current ones with the music he has is pretty much impossible

    It's interesting how this will go ahead tbh. Gg Stans are always loud near debuts of their faves but there's no longevity for a career based on viral songs. You need fans for that. It's clear who's doing concerts and releasing music from the 2nd gen till now.

    There is not pretending. It is the truth that everyone knows. You also know that bts are miles ahead of every kpop act. Jhope is closer to blackpink than blackpink is to bts. Jhope's last entry on hot 100 96, blackpink last 59, bts last 13. Blackpink can't chart deceng on hot 100 without collabs. Their peak is 13 with collab. Even there bts solo is closer to Blackpink than blackpink is to bts. Jungkook collab and peak 22, blackpink collab and peak 13, bts without collab peak 1. Blackpink as a group are competing with bts member's solos so they shouldn't be compared with bts but bts solos. Funny to see you talk about his 26k units when blackpink as a group only did 29k. If his numbers are embarrassing I wonder what to make of blackpink. He is occupying top 8 of digital sales chart but blackpink didn't when they released 8 songs. Starting to look like blackpink are more embarrassing than jhope. This is blackpink as a group. Their solos are worse. Rose peak was 10 and she only released 2 songs. Lisa peaked 6. Jhope is embarrassing for charting 8 songs on digital sales chart while your faves are iconic for charting 1 out of 2 below top 5. Jhope at least charted in streaming chart while lisa and rose nowhere to be found. They only charted on hot 100 when it was easier and only released 2 songs. They knew they would flop if they did more than 2 songs. Let's forget that they are not talented enough to make more than bare minimum of 2 songs on their own.

    Armys need to be a little bit humble, we all knew he has the smallest solo fandom among all other members and weren't expecting huge numbers but they really set him up by dragging other soloists and making goals they knew were impossible to reach. You guys always drag others for doing digipack but isn't this album like $6?? And not even 500k sales are cracked.
