You want badges from inactive/banned users?

Does exclusivity count if no one on the site owns the badge? seams like abit of a waste / redundant if that is the case.

Would there be an open forum for people like myself to want to open up or over turn the rule on sale of badges that are unavailable? like in an official capacity not just a post like if you admins had an AGM or something.

How often can I ask the people who own the badge I want without being banned for spam? daily? weekly? monthly?

I can answer some of this:

First off, the reason why first gen badges are off the shop is because of the second gen revamp. Prior to the revamp, badges weren't available in the shop as individual products. When you bought a badge, you would get a dm from a staff member and you had to tell them what badge you wanted so they could award you manually. It wasn't automatic like it is now.

Sure, 1st gen badges could have been added as their own products like the second gen badges now, but that is a lot of badges to add, and having to do this on top of the all the badge events happening for the second gen badges and adding all those new badges to the shop was not ideal.

Additionally, this encouraged people to have a vested interest in the second gen badge events and the badges itself. And... really... it's like any other product. When a product gets old and obsolete, you stop selling it. There really isn't a need to have old badges in the shop when we got newer, "better" versions in the shop already.

In regards to the first gen badges being in the system. People did buy them, so keeping them in the system allows them to keep their badges prior to the revamp.

However for the badges no one has, yeah I agree that they are probably unnecessary and should be deleted. Especially since we upload new badges all the time now and worry about space. I don't think it's so much an exclusivity thing as it is... maybe an oversight or something no one got around to dealing with. That is a lot of badges to delete and I know from talking with Ibby while working on NCT and aespa badge sets that uploading and replacing badges is tedious and more complicated than it seems. I don't think it's as simple as "click on button and badge gone now".

I feel like for us on the badge team, we're wrapped up in other things like the badge events, making LE badges, making sets, etc. And other people on the staff in general are dealing with their own things. It just probably wasn't a priority after the revamp and never properly gotten taken cared of as opposed to keeping the badges exclusive. Maybe we can look into deleting them in the future since as I have said, they are taking up space.

In regards to the asking thing, that is something a mod can answer better, however, if after contacting people a few times yields you no response, frankly, I don't think you'll ever get a response no matter how much you ask. That's insanity... doing the same thing over and over again and expecting something different. As much as you want the first gen badges... you probably won't ever get them if no one wants to give them to you unfortunately.

But if you are going around deleting badges and exclusivity is not really a thing then before you delete them forever, can you please do a "last chance" event? where you can sell them before the finality for removing them forever? I mean, I really need this badge...

(if it was possible to buy said badge would it be potentially difficult? ya know asking for a friend...)
