Good topic, OP. Thanks for bringing it up. However, I have to disagree with you. Maturity isn't sexuality. Western artists can be sexual all they want, but that doesn't mean they're being mature.
Maturity is talking about struggling with inner demons and trying to overcome them like "Voices" or "Insomnia" by Stray Kids.
Maturity is expressing what it's like to be free from anxiety like "Sunshine" by Stray Kids.
Maturity is being in love, but not being ready to go into it full force like "SLOW DOWN" or "YOUNG LUV" by STAYC.
Maturity is being self-aware that the way you come across to others isn't exactly the person you are inside like "STEREOTYPE" by STAYC.
I could go on.
Maturity is growing up and realizing your life is within your control, that nobody can tell you differently. You just put on your shoes and get started with your day like "Sneakers" by ITZY. It's easy to judge a book by its cover, especially in K-pop, but lyrically and metaphorically, some of these songs deal with mature themes.
The social conditioning orchestrated by western pop culture got people thinking sexuality is all there is to maturity, but that can't be further from the truth.
