Isn't it contradictory that some fans are proud of paving the way but at the same time gatekeep others from using that way?

  • Lol and those fans don't even credit older groups than their faves that paved the way first.

It's also contradictory to deny older 1st gen and 2nd groups paved the way when bts literally walked on every path they used to take. Hypocrites yeah.

no armys deny that 1st and 2nd gen paved the way for kpop in asia. we're talking about the western and us babe where no one did anything for bts. but y'all always deny bts's impact in the west and pretend like they did nothing.

also, 2nd gen fans were the loudest ones that mocked bts for 'western validation' when they first got that bbma nomination, now that their 3rd and 4th gen favs have started the western promos, it's suddenly asian representations lol armys just laugh at the hypocrisy. y'all like to switch narratives whenever you want to discredit bts so you're not the ones to talk about anyone's being hypocrites. let's just admit both sides are messy and stop playing victims. :pepe-shrug:

  • This whole “paving the way” thing is stupid. Who cares? Just enjoy the music.

  • It’s also reeks of entitlement, and in my opinion is just an excuse to shit on other fans/groups atp. If you really believed said group payed the way, you shouldn’t feel so insecure when others don’t acknowledge it. I promise you it’s not that deep.

  • Lol please recant what idols/groups were big in the west 1st and what awards you're talking about. I want to laugh.

I find the talk of delusions by you hysterical when you are literally creating an alternate universe in which idols/groups were impactful/relevant and big in the west before BTS.

P.S. Your anon name fits what you're selling buddy.

I guess you forgot that Psy was huge in the west. That he won at the billboard and vmas. That he was the first artist to break a billion views on youtube, that he set several guiness world records far before bts even existed. Like seriously google his impact then come talk to me about alternate narratives.

Bb also sold out american stadium tours and won at the evmas but because its the evmas it probably doesnt matter right because its not america.

i know bb fans are delusional but this is next level. i give up :pepe-life-support:

  • yall make it so easy it's not even a challenge at this point.

I want to learn how to lie with so much confidence like this.

  • I see people start to steel my thread and post them on the anon :woow:

  • Maybe some fans will stop gatekeeping the way when you KPOP fans credit their faves for paving it. :borahae:

How many armys do you see crediting the second generation for bts' success? Exactly, none.

What your people actually want is to claim credit for EVERY achievement any group gets in the future. It's natural that all other fandoms want to avoid you like plague.

  • Kpop will go back to being irrelevant after BTS. The reason it's where it is now and your faves get the opportunities they get now is because of BTS.

LOL how do you know who my faves are? My "faves" achievements and "opportunities" are not because of BTS or what BTS does.

Did you even listen to kpop before BTS? Do you listen to any other groups outside of BTS? Those questions are as irrelevant as your statement is.

I know this is hard for some ARMYs to wrap their heads around but not everyone who likes kpop is a diehard BTS fan/ARMY. I respect BTS, I acknowledge their achievements, they are amazing individually and as a group.

Are they my favorite kpop group? No. But do I like some of their music? Yes. Would I consider myself an ARMY? No because outside of their music, I don't follow the group like that.
