Display MoreI feel we are going in circles but who's debating the tracking period? Or that kep1er did 2 shows for kbs? Those categories are acknowledged and hardly the subject of debate.
Even I'm not upto date but if I'm not wrong the argument stems around the SNS score. Where 600k-700kish equals 31 points and 3M equals 1 point. Given kbs's reputation fans aren't wrong for raising this issue.
The blame isn't on kep1er it's firmly on kbs, even in this thread. Kbs is the one who got caught just the past month for rigging points, not kep1er.
If you want to start beef then feel free no one is stopping you lol. You'll still be beating a dead horse is my point. This isnt the first time in kpop history that this has happened nor will it be the last.
I got this from reddit so it may or may not be true
Music Bank's differential score system strikes again. (Though frankly, to most wins the SNS score is so low as to be functionally irrelevant.) POP is being measured not against the top nominees this week like the other shows, but against of every single kpop song that fits Music Bank's criteria on YouTube and TikTok, with data derived from the Gaon Social Chart.
I am nearly sure they only count Korean data - definitely for TikTok at least. So you can generally use that as an indicator of SNS points. The category is worth 5% or 10,000 points, but that's divided between at least 100 nominees if not more. (I can't find a source on how many songs they divide points between, but their viewer's choice survey lists 100 songs. So I'm going to assume that's their limit.)
Yet to Come, Permission to Dance and Butter get anywhere from 600 to 1000 points each every week no matter what because BTS get loads of YouTube views and have been 1 on the Gaon Social Chart for 67 weeks. Jessi's Zoom is viral on Korean TikTok and she's top 5 on the Gaon Social chart so it's also eating up about a thousand points a week since it went viral. POP only had data from Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nayeon did not rank in the top 50 of last week's Gaon Social Chart because she only had two days tracking - Kep1er managed 24.
Basically, you can think of any category on Music Bank as a cake shared between at least 100 people. For the SNS category, Nayeon got there five days late, BTS and Jessi had already eaten a quarter of it, and she was up against at least 97 other acts for the remainder. The only way to get a high SNS score on Mubank is either to be BTS or Blackpink or to go viral on TikTok. Which Pop hasn't done.
